As the Associate Director of International Programs, Chris manages UR's study abroad programs in Australia, New Zealand, France, Canada, Switzerland, Scotland (through fall 09), and England.  As such, Chris advises outgoing students planning to study abroad for a semester or year abroad, assists incoming exchange students and works with various departments on campus in managing the financial and academic aspects of our study abroad programs.

Chris has worked in international education since 1999.  Before coming to Richmond, he held other positions in the field at Purdue University and Penn State.

After receiving his BA from Penn State, he was a Peace Corps Volunteer in Sierra Leone and has been involved in Returned Peace Corps Volunteer (RPCV) activities since then.  He later lived in Strasbourg, France for a year while doing a Master's degree in French (civilisation emphasis) through Penn State.
 

In his free time, Chris enjoys traveling (recent trips include Japan, China and Quebec), world literature and music, Native American culture and history, Cold War history, writing, and the outdoors.
