Passports and Visas (see Passport processing time)

U.S. Department of State Passport Services

A valid passport is required to enter most foreign countries.  U.S. citizens can find a passport application and instructions on the U.S. Department of State's website for passport services.  The electronic passport is the same as a regular passport with the additional of an integrated circuit embedded in the back cover.  Non-U.S. citizens should consult their home country's Embassy for rules and regulations on passports and visas.

Richmond study abroad students planning to study in the United Kingdom should read about UK Visa Requirements

Visas

You may be required to obtain a student visa in order to enter your host country.  Your study abroad advisor will tell you if you are required to obtain a visa and, if so, will give you further instructions. The visa is usually a stamp imprinted on a back page of your passport.
