The Office of International Education stays abreast of the worldwide health and safety issues using the following sites:
United States Department of State The State Department website publishes the latest travel warnings, country specific information, and travel alerts. You will also find valuable travel tips for students, contact information for the U.S. embassy or consulate in a particular country, and passport information. They also have a very helpful "Students Abroad" website that contains a lot of useful tips and information for students and their parents. Be sure to check out the "Background Notes" on the country you will be visiting for detailed safety information: http://www.state.gov/r/pa/ei/bgn/.
Centers for Disease Control Visit the Travel Health section of the Centers for Disease Control website for the latest health-related travel warnings, recommendations for immunizations, and important information about safe food and water in the country you will be visiting.
World Health Organization The World Health Organization website provides health-related information for the international traveler. The International Travel and Health section offers precautions one can take before, during, and after international travel.
