Students participating in University of Richmond semester abroad programs will automatically be enrolled in a health insurance plan tailored to meet the needs of study abroad students. The insurance carrier is CMI Insurance, a MEDEX Global Group Company; it is underwritten by ACE American Insurance Company.

Who will not be enrolled?

Non-immigrant students who are studying at Richmond on a F-1 visa already have worldwide insurance coverage (with a $1,000 limit in their home country) through Trawick International.  If studying abroad in their home country, these students are advised to purchase additional supplemental coverage, as $1,000 is not sufficient to cover a major accident or illness.
